Bill & Ted Face the Music

Bill & Ted Face the Music is the third film in the Bill and Ted trilogy and it once again features Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. The film starts out with showcasing Bill and Ted's daughters Billie and Thea who we thought were sons at the end of the second film, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. The two families are then approached by the daughter of Rufus, Bill and Ted's time traveling friend from the future. Rufus's daughter, Kelly informs them that Bill and Ted are once again asked to save all of time and space by writing a song that will unite Humanity. This is a near-impossible task as they only have less than 24 hours to create a band, write the lyrics and perform the song, but thankfully Bill and Ted have access to a time-traveling phone to find a future where they have written the humanity saving song. While Bill and Ted are time-traveling, their daughters also traveling through time to gather historical musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Wolfgang Amadeus and Kid Cudi to form a band through the ages. I definitely would recommend this film and the trilogy to anyone who needs a night to sit back and relax. Bill & Ted Face the Music will satisfy your current and old music tastes as you journey through this excellent adventure through music and history. Be Excellent To Each Other!

A Brimful of Asha Guest review by Michelle B.

I streamed The Citadel Theatres performance of ‘A Brimful of Asha’ , a Mothers Day gift to myself recently. In this play written by Ravi and Asha Jain, a funny and true story of son Ravi and mother Asha is told from each of their own perspectives. This tale includes family expectations, disagreements, dreams and wishes, traditions, arranged marriages, and especially mother-son relationships. This ‘two-hander’, is very well performed by Adolyn H Dar and Nimet Kanji instead of the usual real Ravi and Asha. The set was simple and appropriate and I really liked the use of the occasional video pictures on the back screen. There were a couple of times during the stream that the camera was a bit shaky and the audio was a bit off, especially when the characters were yelling/raising their voices. As a wife and mother of a son, I could relate to most of the issues explored in the play except the arranged marriage (I don’t think that my son would app...

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe is a direct sequel to the 2011 film Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension. This flick runs for an hour and a half and satisfies all of your nostalgia needs from your childhood. The film starts out with Candace once again trying to bust Phineas and Ferb for building one of their convoluted inventions. Candace's plan backfires when she gets abducted by an alien race from the planet Feebla-Oot . After finding out that Candace and Vanessa have been captured, Phineas, Ferb, and the gang quickly team up with Doctor Doofenshmirtz to rescue them. Throughout the film, there are references to older episodes via billboards in the city, flashbacks, and a nice collage at the end of the movie. Unfortunately, there are a few things missing from the film that were in the TV show, such as the amazing musical sequences which made Phineas and Ferb such a unique show for its time. Shoplifters of the World

Shoplifters of the World is set in the mid-80s and highlights the reactions that a group of friends had to the band The Smiths breaking up in 1986. Though this movie may not be based on exact true events it is a film that is based on true intentions which is an interesting take for me, as most films are either fictional or true stories, not a mix of both. Shoplifters of the World is full of musical references from several different bands that were around in the 80s such as Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper and Kiss just to name a few. Another thing to take note of, is the fact that the lines spoken by the main characters are often intertwined with the lyrics from songs by The Smiths. As the main characters hear about The Smiths breaking up one of them plans to hold a final tribute for the best band in the world. Unfortunately, one of them isn't that smart and decides to hold a radio station up at gunpoint and demands that the DJ play The Smiths music all night...
